Future Homes
In the future, we would like to add additional homes, however, the need for funds and people to come alongside the men is great. FHM is interested in partnering with faith-based groups and churches to accomplish this. Not only do we need funding for new homes and furnishings but we need staff and volunteers for each home. We wish to provide for our residents the same thing churches wish to provide for their members: discipleship! As we grow we need funding, Christ-centered staff, and volunteers to make the homes successful.
In addition to this growth we have a larger vision. We would like to unite our city in God’s work. We would like to promote partnerships between inner-city and suburban churches to work together to combat the giants of our day. Studies have shown that meeting together, talking about solutions, and making promises, etc. has brought about no change. Even though these are in fact good practices, being satisfied just with good robs us of greatness. With runaway addiction, homelessness, record suicides, and terrible racial strife, now is the time for the church to no longer be satisfied with good but unite as Jesus has called us to be great, to be one as He and the Father are one.
“The glory that You have given Me, I have given them that they may be one even as We are One…that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know You sent me and love them even as You have loved Me.” John 17:22,23
WOW! If FHM could grow to give homes to these diverse church partnerships that took in diverse people with diverse needs and these partners worked together, learned to love the people and each other, would THAT not be greatness to the glory of God!
