About

Making something beautiful by uniting churches and volunteers from all cultures to tear down walls, rebuild lives, and cultivate trust through relationships

After several years of working with men through counseling centers, the district attorney’s office, local jails, and Celebrate Recovery, there was an obvious need for a faith-based recovery program in the Chattanooga area. The number of individuals becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol is increasing at phenomenal rates. The cost to those individuals, their families, friends, and the economy is staggering: 8.7% of Tennesseans are addicts; $600 billion spent nationwide; record # of assaults, burglaries, suicides; and over 700,000 deaths have occurred in the US since 2000. These costs have a general rate of increase of 15%-17% annually. Where might we be in another 10 years at this rate??

Mission

Our mission is to come alongside those struggling with addiction… to help them regain their lives through a relationship with Christ. We provide affordable housing, assistance in finding jobs, instruction in life skills, and spiritual guidance.
I Cor. 3:11 “For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Sometimes you dont know how you arrive at a certain place in life. After spending the first 50 years of my life in one mess after another. I was fortunate to have a major intervention from the Lord Himself. All the things of my past have now been used to give me an education and passion for working with men struggling with addiction.

How did I become a Recovery Specialist for the state of Tennessee or the director of a faith-based ministry? I had a Good Shepherd that did not give up on me. As the Founder and Director of FHM, I want to give these men the same chance I have had.
